I wanted to do my solo album back in 1996. It was some kind of soul/funk/pop thing. I was listening to from Al Green,Curtis Mayfield to Paul Weller and Style Council. I started with demo recording, but met Faris (ex Sikter drummer ) on the street and he invited me to play with them for Italian Tour, so I jumped in.
They were some kind of heavy crossover, you know – RATM, Body Count and so on, not exactly my style, but I really wanted to play so I joined.
We made 4 albums and one documentary movie since then, toured across the Europe, from pubs to stadiums and our 1st album featured Brian Eno as keyboard player and coproducer.
We came from heavy metal and punk to soul and funk, and back.
Still, I felt I am missing something which is purely my music, so I got back to my previous idea -
my solo stuff – an album I titled simply, Funk Time with 6 tracks on it, to keep Jazz and Funk Alive!
